Fang only blinked again. "Perhaps." He said nothing more as he turned back towards the way they had come. His hands were still on his dagger.

Ai followed him.

Fang suddenly put his leather-gloved hand back, nearly hitting Ai in the face. "Wait." His dark eyes scanned the streets. "There. See those two thugs? They're watching me. You should probably take a different route back."

"Is dere gonna be a fighty?"

"Yes." Again with the one-word replies. "Go."

"But i always watch Yuki when she fights so whats the problem?"

With an almost gutteral growl Fang pulled down the scarf that covered his scarred eye. "This is why. The people I fight don't care if they kill you." He took long strides and disappeared around an alley corner.

"Same with Yuki!!!"

Fang ignored her and hoped she wouldn't follow. Sprinting around several more corners, he performed a ninja-looking kick that would knock anyone out. One of his opponents fell to the ground, out cold. He faced the others, fists raised.

Ai just sat back and watched while eating popcorn.

The three men left faced Fang, eyes gleaming in anticipation of their win. Of course, Fang wasn't finished yet. There was a loud crack as Fang's fist connected with a guy's jaw. Blood gushed from the his opponent's mouth, and once again they fell to the ground. Only problem was, Fang's knuckles were now bleeding too. With a wince he turned to the last two, delivering a kick that knocked them both out. Now that they were all down Fang took a closer look at his knuckles. The bone was visible, and blood dripped down his arm. Why did this always seem to happen to him? He needed to use that book to alter his bone structure in his hands. Torn knuckles took too long to heal. With a sigh he picked up one of the unconscious men and kindly wiped his own blood on the man's shirt. Dropping him he jogged back to Yuki's mansion.

Ai followed him

Once Fang was inside he immedietely pulled a cloak from his pocket (don't know how that's possible but hey) and tore a strip from the bottom, wrapping his knuckles in it. He didn't bother to do anything else. Calling up to Yuki, "Nezumi?" He didn't even ask if Nezumi was there, he just used the fewest words possible.

(later! i'm off to read for like a week. xD got six books. really it will probably only take me about two days. xD )

"not yet" Yuki said not in the mood to talk to him

He didn't respond, just gave an annoyed sounding grunt. "I'm tempted to just forget the thing and go."

"She called though.....she said she'll be here tomorrow.."

He looked neither please nor annoyed. He was about to crack his knuckles, but a second glance at his bandage stopped him. He settled back against the wall to wait the night out.

Famg rose early and walked outside. His head turned to the left and he frowned. Taking long strides he walked almost a mile before he came to where he wanted to be. Right he was. A horse struggled to break free, cross-tied. It looked starved. Its flanks heaved just with the effort of breathing. When it saw Fang it gave a half-rear. Fang spoke in a low, soothing voice. It sounded foreign, like some kind of Indian. As he moved closer, the horse watched him carefully. Fang cautiously untied one cross-tie, than the other. The horse took a while to realize it was free. Grabbing lightly onto its halter, Fang led the horse, looking for food for it. He stopped in a grassy clearing.

Nezumi randomly pops up in the mansion

"Kota ki bhitara ghusa.." Fang murmured, removing the horse's halter and gently patting its flank. "Roam free, my friend." He turned back towards the mansion, jogging. He was slightly sweaty when he got back inside.

Nezumi plopped on the coach telling Yuki about what she did and Yuki listened eagerly.

Fang walked into the room. "Finally!" He muttered. "Nezumi, you know anything about a strange map?" He figured it'd be his luck for her to know nothing about it after all this time.
