"That's rather big," Fang said mildly. He didn't seem too worried. Or perhaps he was, and was just keeping it under control. It was hard to tell.

She let out a soft sigh and turned on the tv watching the anime channel.

Fang stood, eyes closing briefly as if in resignation. His eyes flicked back open. "I'm going to train." He said softly.

He gave her a quizzical look. "Why would I be nice to someone who was trying to hurt me? I'd only end up dead."

He laughed, but the sound held no humor. "Why does anyone hurt anyone? Because I'm different. Because they wanted to." Shaking his head, he added, "Who knows."

With a backwards wave he headed out the door. Hours later he returned, semi-bloody and triumphant. He seemed quite tired, as well.
